Hello! We're back in Amherst, reclaiming our apartment. Not much space here - we've had to adjust to the "kitchen" which is really just a stove and sink in the passageway between living room and bedroom - but it's enough, after living out of a suitcase for 3 months. One week plus to go before another academic year. We look forward to that, but will not rush. The long flight seems to have taken a delayed toll on me, now battling sleepiness at 10:15pm, which is the hour we start ordering teh tarik not too long ago in another land. I don't want to sleep early and find myself awake before dawn (which is 530am here) to force myself back into my normal routine. So goodwife says, well, why don't you blog? (Actually, it was more like, go blog) We will try to make this work, with regular postings. Yes, the 'we' means I will also be present here now and then. Now let me say, it was very good to be home for the summer break. To rest and reconnect with family and friends, travel to Cambodia and South Vietnam, savour the things we like about Malaysia. It's also good to be back here, where we have friends, studies and New England offerings to return to. There's a bag of cherries in the fridge! ha
